Hi I am a lia sophia advisor, and Daphne has asked me to join here and help with the topic of lia sophia jewelry! So ask your questions, post your concerns!
I'll do my best to check in often and reply.
I have been in direct sales with a home based business for over 11 years(Mary Kay) and find the tax advantages to be so worth doing a business, even if it is only very part time!
I've been with lia since the fall of 2006. The income is fabulous, the jewelry so gorgeous!
I am booking 2- 3 shows from every one I do.
Now if you are considering lia sophia and don't want to be that busy that is ok!! You just set your own schedule and offer book shows, or dove-tail to another Advisory. She does the show and you get 50% of the profit!!
Currently I am building a team...looking for others all over the US....our current map shows some states with fewer than 50 Advisors for the whole state!!! It is such a good time to get started!! Who wouldn't want $1000 worth of jewelry and business supplies for just $149?? With the mentoring and help to make it work ??!!
You can get lots more questions answered by visiting my website...www.liasophia.com/lynnandreske
I'm looking forward to some great conversations here. And meeting other Advisors as they find their way here!
hugs.. LYNN |

Thanks Lynn.
I've been getting that same message from loads of advisors. They all believe the whole idea behind Lia Sophia is great, and that the company is doing great in the customer service department.
The thing is, I'm not feeling that 100%. Some of the reactions I've seen are very negative....
And the receipt issue... I honestly don't understand the people at Lia Sophia. If, let's say, I sell my jewelry on eBay. Why should it loose its warranty? I mean, if they honestly believe in their product, they wouldn't mind where you bought it, no? If it's one of their products, their warranty should stand. Period.
Oh and euh... I'm not contra-lia sophia. Everyone can see that in my blog entries . It's just a point of criticism |

I appreciate the comments!
I truly believe that lia sophia respects its customers, and bends over backwards to help you when you have any issue.
Every direct sale company I know of...Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Home Interiors, etc etc all have that same type of return policy. You have to have your original receipt.
We are hearing the reason behind needing the receipt is that it proves that you bought it directly from lia sophia, and the time frame, the control order for tracing back the supply date/artisan etc. Unfortunately as in almost every business out there some hijacking of shipments and dubious things occur.
When a shipment goes missing lia replaces the entire shipment and I can understand their desire to not cover 'stolen' and then marketed items.
Another factor is that lia offers we Advisors the opportunity to by discontinued jewelry at super fabulous discounts...even beyond our normal 70% off. We are encouraged to offer those pieces to guests and hostesses for booking gifts, prizes etc.
And again of course there are some less than honorable people that get ahold of those and then market them at full retail value. Now if the company had to replace those pieces that they sold for a loss to begin with it would definitely impact them.
Please don't get me wrong when I say that....most women don't ever have issues or need to return/replace defective items. It's those that get ahold of these older items and then try to return them for NEW current items.
We all know the few bad apples make everyone more cautious.
I hope that makes sense! |

I just wanted to add that one of the things that I LOVE about Lia Sophia, is that they have created the business to allow customers to be able to only purchase jewelry through an advisor. While I understand that you can go to Ebay and purchase pieces as well as other places. This takes away from the advisors who are actively working this business in an honest and ethical manner and are truly trying to create something better for themselves and their families. If Lia Sophia offered the warranty with any piece of Jewelry.. purchased off Ebay or someone won a free piece at a party.. etc.. What reason, would customers have to come to our Jewelry shows and purchase Jewelry from us? It is another safegaurd to us as Advisors to know that our businesses are protected and that our customers will come back to us. ) |

Also remember that our discontinued jewelry that we offer as a booking/thank you gift is not covered under the lifetime guarantee, which is another big reason that they require a receipt for the purchase. Otherwise, people getting free gifts could, in theory, turn around and send the piece back for a gift certificate for the full retail value of the returned item and use it for another new piece of jewelry that was never paid for. The company already assumes a huge financial burden for the lifetime guarantee (I've had people return a piece that was 5 years old and get a full value merchandise credit), and to have to absorb that kind of cost would break the bank since they probably sold the discontinued jewelry to us at a loss anyway.
Lia Sophia really is a company about family and trying to help that family be the best it can be. Whether you're an advisor looking to build a business, or a customer looking to build your wardrobe, I know it might sound campy, but the company really IS there for you. They've implemented so many helpful tools in the past 6 months that it's become increasingly easier to not only make returns, but KNOW that your customer service issues are being resolved. Any company with growing pains like lia sophia's had in the last year will have major hiccups in service. But with all the new implementation, they've come leaps and bounds beyond where they were even 6 short months ago. _________________ Share the Love of Jewelry

I have to say...I LOVE LIA SOPHIA!!
It has been the most fun and the presttiest jewelry I have ever encountered.
Being an Advisor has been the best. I get to control my income and my business.
No clock...no boss...I get to enjoy my family while a make a good living having fun.
I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. I even have a few men as customers and they say the same thing.
I think the biggest hurdle has been managing it. Which I am hoping that a meeting I went to in Peoria last week will help. Some guys from a software company came and gave a presentation on some software. They did a great job and hopefully that will come out to be something. Anyone that might be interested they said the website was
http://www.itsshoweasy.com
Otherwise, again, this has been a true blessing for me and my family. On top of all that I have made a ton of new friends that I hope will someday make me a manager
I tend to babble on sometimes so forgive me (lol) and I hope this forum gets more attention soon. Always great to hear from other Lia Sophia friends.
Best Regards,

They care where you bought it because they are protecting their advisors businesses. 2 major department stores have asked to sell lia sophia jewelry in their stores and the owner told them no. They believe that if we as advisors are going to build and maintain strong businesses that the only way you should be able to purchase lia sophia jewelry is through an advisor. _________________ Cassandra

|
|
Let me share with you how a different direct sales jewelry company does their guarantee. I've sold Park Lane jewelry for 15 years. This is a 52 year old company based out of Chicago. We have an unconditional guarantee. For the first four months you can exchange any piece you purchase for free. After four months it is a $5 handling fee per item. We use the receipt to prove the date of purchase for the first four months. After four months, if you DO NOT have your receipt, Park Lane will only replace your item with a like item. If you do have your receipt, Park Lane will exchange your item for anything else.
I've had rings for 10 years and have a stone fall out. Send it back with $5 and they'll send me a brand new ring. Or, I've had a necklace for a year. Decided I didn't like it, sent it back with my receipt and $5 and asked to exchange it for a bracelet of like value - no problem.
Park Lane is also a party plan company...but regardless of how you buy an item or where, an unconditional LIFETIME guarantee should be just that - receipt or no receipt.
Just another system for comparison sake... |
