Just another system for comparison sake... [/quote]
I don't want this to turn into a who's company is better - obviously I love lia sophia since I rep for them .... but there are also some pieces that JBPL has that I ADORE. In fact, I was talking to a girl on my team today and a rep from another company was at one of her shows; she was sad that she didn't know that until she left b/c she would have loved to see their catalog. I suggested that she call and ask for one - that I have lots of catalogs from other jewelry companies --- b/c I love jewelry and I always find at least 2 or 3 pieces that I like - with the exception of one company that I will not name. They have their client base but so far I haven't found anything that appeals to me. It's just my personal taste - I know they have lots of customers that love their jewelry.
But here's another reason the company wants a copy of the receipt. As advisors we are able to purchase discontinued items that we can give away as prizes at our shows --- a customer shouldn't be able to send that item in and replace it with something different. Is it right for me to expect that an I got for free, that I do something to break it (or not even do something that causes it to break - it just does) and then expect that I'll get it replaced? I don't think so. I don't think it makes a company "bad" to want to see proof that you actually purchased their item.
I don't want this to turn into a fight over jewelry - just something that occurred to me. _________________ Cassandra

| Out of curiosity does Park Lane offer their Advisors discontinued jewelry at a substantial discount to give away as prizes/incentives? |

Park Lane offers reps a 60% discount on anything all the time. Although, very few people take advantage of it. There are several reasons for this.
One reason is that we earn free jewelry every single month - new jewelry, old jewelry, whatever we choose.
A person's first six months in the business, they can earn $400 a month in free product just for selling either $2000 in a month or by selling $1,000 and sponsoring one new person.
Also, each month we come out with a new collection of jewelry - usually 8-12 new pieces. Any rep who sold $2,000 the previous month gets all of the new jewelry sent to them at no cost.
We do have some jewelry we call "incentive jewelry". These are items not in our line but used primarily for giveaways. Our cost is between $1.75 and $3.00 each.
Often, when I need jewelry for contests for my group or giveaways, I'll place an order myself. By the time I take advantage of our $12 customer bonus items, take the hostess credits and get paid my 45% commission, I've usually saved about 85-90% off of retail AND I get credit for the sales for the various contests we always have going on.
Probably way more explanation than you wanted...but hopefully I answered your questions albeit in a very long-winded way. |

Cassandra -
Here's the thing...to me, a guarantee means a company stands behind their product. They guarantee it is well made and will stay put together. I totally agree with you...if someone gets something for free and it breaks, I don't think they should be able to send it back for a different item. But, I do think they should be able to get it replaced with a like item. It doesn't matter how much you paid for something or IF you paid for it...if it falls apart the company should stand behind their product and replace it.
I'm with you - I love jewelry. I think I need to start a support group for jewelry addiction!

I thought Iwould take a moment to update visitors on the business of lia sophia!
The company is approaching 30K Advisors, women are seeing the grassroots business opportunity with lia sophia.
Personally, I have developed a team of 20 women, all with different needs and time schedules. They are making awesome income for the time they can commit to their lia sophia businesses. From those wanting just some fun money to those looking to supplement or replace their current incomes, they are seeing great returns on their investment. Withour average show about $700, the 30% Advisors earn really can make a difference!
The number of Advisors earning the Yearly TRIP Prize to Hawaii is growing! It's going to be an awesome fun in the sun get a way!!
The new catalog will launch in February and already we are seeing bookings from jewelry lovers wanting to be some of the first to show their friends the new line and also be the first to earn free jewelry by hostessing.
If anyone is searching for more info they can visit my website www.liasophia.com/lynnandreske and contact me that way...I'd be happy to share.
Feeling blessed is awesome, sharing that blessing is even better~

hppyjoy,
I understand the discounted jewelry that you can purchase as an Advisor, as every company offers this...my question is regarding the "incentive jewelry" that you can purchase from your company, if this jewelry is given away for whatever reason at a show and it breaks, does your company replace it or give them a like item since it wasnt something from your catalog but an "incentive" peice? |

I could use one too - trouble is....I'm not sure a 12-step program will do me ANY good b/c I just can't resist a good piece of jewelry!!!
That is pretty neat that you can earn those 8 new pieces - I have a question for you. On another message board I frequent there is talk about some companies that require their advisors to pay a yearly fee - a renewal fee - that is just for their advisor number. lia sophia doesn't have this and I'm wondering if ya'll do. Seems like a crazy thing to me! _________________ Cassandra

Just had to add my two cents about the receipt issue. I've been involved in a few situations where i wanted to return something (not lia sophia) and had to have a receipt. This isn't a new concept that you must have the original reciept as proof of purchase, time frame. So I don't understand why this would be so much of an aggrevation?
I think when you really break it down, it might be to protect the adivsors and the company financially, but all of lia sophia's pieces are supposed to be made by hand. Each and every individual piece. If someone had a studio at home, they could possibly recreate a replica and try to pass if off as a lia sophia original. I think this alone would be enough to require a receipt as proof of purchase. |
