Heels too high?

My shoe collection is not quite as large as my lingerie collection but I definitely have more than I need. Most have about a three and a half inch heel and that's plenty for both comfort and in trying not to be too tall. Still I love the look of some heels that are much higher and have been tempted to go for a pair around five inches or so but they appear to be difficult to walk in. When you see a shoe you like does the height of the heel affect your decision to get them or not?

You may want to try a heel with a front platform, then the heel won't seem so high. Heel height definitely affects whether I'll buy a shoe or not - so far I haven't found any shoes that I outright can't walk in, but if I'm trying to find shoes for an occasion where I know I'll be on my feet a lot, I try not to go above 3.5 inches. It's different for everyone, though - even the shape and size of your foot can affect how bearable different heel heights are to you.

Thanks for the links Kelly, I've been drooling over some gorgeous shoes. I agree Louboutin have some nice ones but a little out of my budget, if I were to buy a pair I'm sure I'd come home one day to find the locks have been changed....sigh! Sad

by far the most comfortable high heeled shoes i've ever worn, i bought a pair off e-Bay. i actually had an e-mail exchange with one of their sales reps and he mentioned how they are coming out with a new line called GELLOUS which is going to have a gel insole for platform shoes like these. Imagine that! It's about time!

Yes.. the heel affects. The higher the sexier. But only wear shoes that you are comfortable to wear.

I love shoes - they are my second favourite luxury. I have so many pairs but always find more. For cheap shoes has anyone seen the designs in big new look shops at the moment? We live in a small village and went into town a few weeks ago and walked round the store for ages with 4 pairs in my hands, couldn't decide which ones to go for! I am desperately searching for purple shoes at the moment. There are loads of gorge ones out there but never seem to have them in a size 6!

Have nine pairs of strappy high heel sandals. Heel height goes from 3 to 5.25 inches. As far as looks, the higher heels are hard to beat. If you are going to be doing a lot of walking or standing you may want to consider a smaller heel. I love the appearance of the higher heels.

Platforms are much easier to walk in than you would think because of the height of the platform... and I usually try to get shoes with a thicker heel if I am going to go really high... it helps me.. Very Happy
