I think my main problem is my brain insisting I am a 34C, when I think that in reality I am a 34B. I am not sure how I got stuck on 34c, just that is always the size I ended up with. Rolling Eyes I just measured and came up with 30" for around my chest (+ the 4" = 34") and 35 for the bust size. Which would be 34B? I always argued with my husband when he said, "I think you are a B cup."
"I am not, I fit a 34C!"
And I never really noticed how badly my 34C bras fit until he bought me a book saying all the things a wrongly fitting bra does ( it also says "Throw out all those bras that don't fit!"). Razz

With that said it is probably no wonder I have a host of troubles with cup sizes not working. This might also be due to the fact that I usually end up with cheap bras because I am such a miser, I feel bad if I splurge on anything! Embarassed
I love looking at bras, but I always tell myself I should not spend, even if it would take away the nightmares of : the underwire poking me in the side of my breast, the back of my bra deciding it wants to unhook (I just have one that does this, but I keep resisting throwing it out, or stomping on it Evil or Very Mad ), the band hitching up in the back, the straps falling down, or that awful gap between the top of my bra and my breasts (and sometimes the cup doesn't seem to go in the right spot under my breasts).
Right now I have one bra where the cup fits nicely, but I don't wear it much because I do not want to wear it out! I don't know where to get another. Sad

When I saw the Lucia bra pictures in the first post about the Little Bra Company I adored the oyster/aqua one, and I love how it shaped the smaller breast to that perfect roundness. I am not blessed with the perky breast type, so I need that additional push up!

If I win, I promise to go through and get rid of all those terrible, evil bras, and buy decent ones. Smile

From your bra-fitting description, it doesn't sound like you need a 34B to get a bra that fits properly. You also might not need to spend a lot of money. The band riding up, wires poking you in the breast, and bra unhooking itself are all symptoms of a band that's too big. Try going down to a 32 or 30 band. With the appropriate tension on the band, you'll find that it stays in place under your shoulder blades, the wires are pulled back into position on your ribcage behind your breasts (eliminating poking), and the bra won't be able to unhook. The straps might even stay on better! A well-fitting band will be snug on the loosest hooks. You should be able to fit a couple of fingers under the band, but that's it.

As for cups, when the band doesn't fit, it's hard to judge how the cups are fitting. Start with a 32D (smaller band, same cup size as you've been wearing) and see how that fits. You don't want the cups to be baggy, but you shouldn't be popping out either.

In bra fitting, measurements really just give you a starting point. Finding the right fit is all about trial and error. Once you do find a really well-fitting bra though, you'll never go back. It makes such a difference in how you look, how your clothes fit, and most importantly, how comfortable you are throughout the day. Honestly, it'll change your life.

Best of luck!

I am a sucker for push-up Victoria's Secret bras. I always find myself coming back to them, despite the one big problem I always tend to have. These bras give my 34Bs great cleavage while standing straight up...but then whenever I lean over (whether to pick something up, to take notes in class, etc.) they leave a huge gap between my breasts and the bra. You can see everything! It's frusturating that I have to make sure I don't flash the grocer, my teacher, whoever, and as a student with a dwindling cash supply and increasing credit debt, it doesn't put me in a good financial situation to be purchasing discretionary items...now I suppose whether a fitting bra is a discretionary item or not is up for debate...I love feminine lace and flirty colors like pink and orange. They're sexy and fun without looking like you're trying too hard!

I usually shop for bras at Victoria's Secret. I've found that as a 34 A, the pretty bras are always too big! I have tried on more than one occasion to purchase the extravagant and lacy bras and slips and I am never happy with them.

So far, I have been stuck with Victoria's Secret plain designs and Pink collection for young women.

The Little Bra Company's design is definitely enticing. It is gorgeous and made for smaller busts! The oyster/blue is especially beautiful.

I've always been tall, and I've always been small. I've been relegated to wearing bras meant for pre-teen girls, or the plain, lonely and unassuming 32A that I was lucky enough to spot in the "women's" section. But even with the smallest size, I have gaps. I assumed this was because I was abnormally small.
I can't even bring myself to walk into Victoria's Secret... I know I'm not the only small one around, but it's hard to console myself when all around me are women. Sure, beauty is only skin deep, but the skin is hard to ignore. It's a relief knowing somebody out there acknowledges that small girls can be women too. I don't need support per se, but I still want to be look good. Lingerie can do that for me, despite my "boyish" build.

Thank you Marnie! Smile I'll be sure to take a bunch of different sizes to the fitting room next time I get to a store. All the sizing differences by companies makes things so confusing, I wish they would pick one standard measurement for each size and be done with it! Wasn't there a thing where if you go down a band size, you have to go up a cup size? I keep forgetting the rules. Razz
I have a friend who recently discovered that she is a different size than she thought. Her husband actually read up on bra sizing and suggested that she might be a different size, and she is much more happy now with the different size. She was amazed at how much of a difference it made.

I think my biggest problem is that I'm a 32C, and so these pretty bras don't come in my size!

All of you who have problems with your bra fitting - go down a band size and up a cup size! Your band should fit TIGHTLY under the breasts. In fact, the band should do all of the supporting - you should not rely on the straps.

I can find bras that fit, sometimes, if I look hard enough or I'm willing to shill out money on line. Generally though, I get the stunning options of beige, white, or black. The peony/tangerine bra is adorable and comfy looking!

After wearing 34A for many years and having A LOT of trouble trying to find ones that fit (they were always too big in the cup and the straps fell down), I was measured and turns out I'm actually a 32A. Which is good... the bras I can find fit better....but it's hard to find 32A bras! Victoria's Secrets carries one or two styles in this size, but they only ever have boring colors (white or black), and Target and the few other department stores in town rarely have bras in my size. I am graduating college in a few weeks and getting an apartment with my boyfriend so I would really like to have pretty bras! I'm hesitant to order bras over the internet, but these ones look so cute I might have to try it! The aqua one is probably my favorite.

I would like the Oyster/Aqua combo in a 34B. I hope that these bras reduce my problem of being in between an A & a B. While I measure a B, if the the cups are loose, they sag, but something with a little elastic fits me perfect! I cannot wait to win.

This uk website says that "We specialise in 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40 AAA, AA and A cups and have a full range of flattering and feminine small bras and small swimwear", see:-

http://www.littlewomen.co.uk/

However, I do not know if they ship abroad.
