I have become slightly obsessed with this skirt ever since it first came out.
The description is:
| Quote: |
| Shaping skirt in power mesh with lace panel and ribbon details. The skirt has a side zipper and soft boning in the back to shape the hips and thighs and lift the bottom. Removable suspenders. Shown with soft bra and brief. In black with black lace. A modern approach to shapewear by designer brand, Made By Niki. |
It's about $247 everywhere I look, but I can't get it out of my head! There's no real reason for me to spend that much on it, considering that I don't even wear shapewear to begin with...
anyway, I'm just hoping someone has it or has tried it on and can talk me into it/out of it _________________ Lingerie is the poetry in a woman’s wardrobe.

Kelly, I was totally entranced by this piece too!
Here is how I talked myself out of even wanting it:
1. Since you don't wear shapewear - where on earth would you ever wear this? The skirt length is impractical, and also the shape is weird. It looks like it has a fishtail. Even if you do have a longer skirt, this wouldn't look great under it.
2. Even if you do want shapewear, I doubt it provides much control for the tummy area. Furthermore, unless you have a perfectly flat stomach like that model does, I doubt it even looks flattering on. At some point in the future, high-waisted skirts are going to go back out of fashion and THEN what would you do with this?
3. It is just *plain, black mesh.* If you are going to blow $247 on a couture piece of lingerie, find something that's a real show-stopper, or very luxurious. That way you can justify the cost. I can understand why Lascivious runs so high with their black mesh creations, but this just seems run-of-the-mill in comparison.
Those are the best reasons I could come up with. I'm sure there are a lot of great reasons to buy something like this, but on the other hand, think of the money you will be saving for the next piece of lingerie that comes along and captures your imagination... |

Sigh, you're right, spoyltone. I think the thing you said that really made me decide against it is that it *is* pretty long. The longest skirts/dresses I have go to my knees, and this would poke out the back. And if I bought this, I have a feeling I'd want to wear it more than just at home!
Maybe I'll let myself get it if it goes on sale _________________ Lingerie is the poetry in a woman’s wardrobe.

Hi, this is my 1st post.
I agree it looks like it would be great to wear under a nicely fitted cocktail dress - that little black one we all have somewhere....
